Benefits of the New CaMPUS

"I feel at home here."

“I fell in love with the undivided attention
that I was receiving from my teachers.”

“Westview—the BIG little school.”

“When I came here, everything changed
for the better and I’ve been doing well ever since.”

While more than doubling the size of our current school and reducing overcrowding, this building project provides us with the opportunity to specifically tailor all education space for the 21st century student—with particular attention to the special needs of our students with learning differences. The following items are planned for our new campus:

  • Fully wireless classrooms:
Specifically designed for multimodal learning environment, wireless classrooms will allow students to incorporate specialized computer learning programs to meet their individual needs.
  • Science Labs: Our students learn best in a multi-sensory instructive environment. For the high school student, labs will provide hands on experimentation. For the middle school student, classrooms are specially designed with extra space to allow for science experiments.
  • Multi-media Lab: This specially designed area will allow expanded instruction in video production, film editing and graphic design, as well as provide flexibility to incorporate future multi-media programs.
  • Art Room: Students will be provided with opportunities to work with a variety of mediums including sculpture, clay, painting and other crafts.
  • Multi-purpose room: Flexible space will provide an appropriate venue for drama and musical rehearsals and productions, assemblies, parent meetings and special speaker engagements.
  • Special amenities: Current ADD/ADHD research encourages the creation of environments free of external distractions to maximize student achievement. The new Westview School is being designed with lighting which will enhance learning, and an atrium on the second-floor—a small urban garden—that can be used for small group instruction or individual work spaces. Additionally, all classrooms will have space for small group pullouts or individual tutoring.

Above all, the project will allow Westview to increase enrollment from 100 to 140 students.
