Message from the Director
Welcome to the Westview website and thank you for your interest in our program.
Westview was founded in 1990 as a small, structured and supportive educational program for students in grades 6 through 12. The program has been designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of youngsters who could benefit from a more personalized approach to learning. While we work primarily with students who struggle with learning, attention, and/or mild emotional problems; our program is open to any youngster who may be underachieving in more traditional settings.
The key to Westview’s success with its students is threefold. First, we provide an academic program which is designed to meet individual student needs and learning styles, while challenging youngsters to achieve to the best of their ability. Second, we focus on the development of strong executive functioning skills by infusing the teaching of good study and organizational skills throughout the curriculum. Finally, we provide a supportive, but well-structured environment which fosters cooperative behavior as well as the development of positive social skills.
At Westview, we understand how important it is for students to develop self-confidence and experience success. We also recognize that this success is best achieved in a supportive, nurturing environment. Our dedicated staff of over forty teachers, counselors, assistants and administrators works hard to ensure that all of our students are given the opportunity to excel both academically and socially. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of each and every youngster who attends our program.
I invite you to explore our website for a more in depth description of the Westview program. Also, please feel free to contact us directly for additional information or to inquire about application to the school.
