Our school makes every effort to provide a safe, clean environment for learning. Classroom space is used to support our instructional program. Emergency drills are routinely held for earthquake and fire preparedness for our students and staff.

School Programs and Practices That Promote a Positive Learning Environment

Information about the school's efforts to create and maintain a positive learning environment, including the use of disciplinary strategies .

The Westview academic program features a unique blend of departmentalized and self-contained classes that are designed to meet a wide range of academic needs and learning styles. Development of organizational and study skills is a high priority at Westview, as are social growth and interaction. Structure, boundaries and setting of limits are key priorities here. Students are assessed upon admission and are assigned to classes that accommodate their individual achievement levels and ability to work to their fullest potential. Monthly and semester awards are given for:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Good citizenship
  • Improved effort
  • Attendance
  • Student Leadership/Council
